A diagnostic evaluation for autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in adults is often a complex and time-consuming task. A comparative analysis of the discriminatory potential of biological parameters and clinical assessments was carried out, leveraging receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. As opposed to neurotypical participants, patients diagnosed with ASD exhibited diminished parasympathetic activity coupled with elevated sympathetic activity.
